mvl’s been filing bugs on stuff that makes building a new-toolkit app suck, based on stuff he’s having to overcome working on Sunbird.

The more we can make it easy to build on, the better off all of the aviary projects will be. But 1.0 is a coming target and we need to make that work first. However, we should get some sort of Toolkit component in b.m.o, and get our ducks lined up. This will be more painful for Thunderbird than for Firefox, since pch has done a lot of toolkit-level work. Those who are carrying on the torch need to continue to embrace and build this up, even if we have to resort to having brendan flog people who drag their heels.
