Do your parents use Firefox?
Apparently my dad found this blog, with the gory details of my ER visit, so I got a call earlier. That was weird. “When were you in the ER throwing up blood” “Um, Monday or thereabouts?”
But the really strange part is that they’re using Firefox, downloaded themselves. My mom remembered me talking about it, and while my dad was battling IE for the 834th time, she reminded him of that, and he’s been using it since without issues. Then I half-explained tabbed browsing, he didn’t really get it, but I think he’s got a few applications for it… 
But that’s just weird. When my dad can download and install Firefox, without bugging me for answers, I know we’re doing something right.
Little tip on explaining tabbed browsing to people – tell them to go to CNN or whatever news site they frequent (or cnn if they don’t frequent any) and tell them to middle click every headline that looks good to them. They’ll figure out tab browsing from there.
Yep, the ‘rents do. I installed it on Mom’s comp and now it’s all she uses (not cuz she loves it, but because I told her to…but hey, we’ll get what we can take right?) and Dad picked it up from my SFX email sig.
I moved my mother over to Firefox around the time 0.8 was out. She loves it and won’t touch the internet without it.
I just uninstalled IE…the i pointed them to the firefox icon on the desktop
